Your Heart Rate Is the Key to

Effective Exercise

Heart-Rate

“If we are creating ourselves all the time, then it is never too late to begin creating the bodies we want instead of the ones we mistakenly assume we are stuck with.”
Deepak Chopra

Your pulse rate or heart rate is the speedometer of your heart. It tells you the number of times your heart beats per minute. Each "beat" is actually a contraction as your heart squeezes to pump blood. Your heart rate rises to meet the demands of an activity and then recovers when you rest. You can measure your heart rate at two pulse points: inside your wrist and the carotid artery in your neck. You will use three measurements to approximate your heart health and fitness and track your progress:

Resting Heart Rate

Maximum Heart Rate during Exertion

Recovery Time
