A-F Betafood Description

Suggested use: 3/day

A-F Betafood is a gallbladder and liver decongestant, supports fat metabolism, thinning and mobilization of bile and assists in the conversion of blood fat to sugar. It is source of naturally occurring betaine from young growing beet leaves that helps with congestion and movement of bile and digestion of fats.

Why A-F Betafood is important?

There are many sources of naturally occurring betaine in the plant world, but the greatest source is the young growing beet leaves. Betaine has been widely reported as a lipotrophic agent - fat metabolism factor - and the contained betaine in beet leaf juice may be one of the main reasons why beet leaf juice has been useful in the relief of gall bladder. Studies have shown that supplements containing naturally occurring betaine will help protect against cirrhosis. Homocystine, a metabolite of the essential amino acid, methionine, cannot be converted to methionine without the participation of betaine. Without homocystine being converted, it will build up in the blood causing fat accumulation and eventually cause damage to a number of organs and tissues.

The bile has several functions in the body and one is to break down the fat in food. It is an emulsifier that promotes the digestion of fat. Bile also helps eliminate toxins from the body. For example, if you create a lot of dust or if you work in a flour mill and breathe flour, it goes down into your lungs, where your blood picks it up and carries it over to the liver. The liver is like the oil filter in a car. It removes toxins from the blood and dumps them out of the body through the bile. It puts them into the bile, which takes them to the intestines for elimination. So bile assists in the elimination of toxins. If the bile gets thick like cream and does not flow smoothly, this indicates that the person's fat metabolism is deficient. If a person cannot digest fat and eats a meal that contains fat, he will start to burp immediately. This is a symptom of gallbladder trouble. So we must thin the bile. The Cataplex A and the Cataplex F thin the bile and the Betafood flushes the bile route, so the product has a detoxifying action and it's very specific in gallbladder cases
